Construction of Shenzhen Metro

"This year is the"leapfrog year"of Shenzhen Metro, and the construction and promotion of all lines are"running"forward. On October 17, the relevant person in charge of Shenzhen Metro Group introduced that from the beginning of the year to the present, 14 lines of Shenzhen Metro have been built in parallel, with the largest number of projects, tasks and investment in the past years. Up to now, Shenzhen Metro construction investment has completed more than 17 billion yuan, more than 70% of the annual task.
       Reporters learned from the Municipal Metro Group that in 2018, there were 14 construction projects (including extension line, excluding the northern extension section of Line 4) of Shenzhen Rail Transit Phase III and Phase IV, with a total investment of more than 250 billion yuan, a record high. By 2023, Shenzhen is expected to have 15 routes with a total length of 570 kilometers. At the same time, Shenzhen has also brewed eight metro lines to connect Dongguan and Huizhou.
       Since the first three quarters of this year, Shenzhen Metro has completed 17.350 billion yuan of construction investment, accounting for 72% of the annual target tasks. Reporters learned that since 2018, 61 of the 87 stations in the second phase of Shenzhen Metro Phase III Project have been capped, and 86% of the main structure has been completed. There are 185 underground excavation and shield tunneling sections, which have penetrated 104, with a completion rate of 72%.
       From 2019 to 2022, Shenzhen Metro will maintain an average speed of not less than two new lines opening each year, according to the relevant person in charge of Shenzhen Metro Group. Among them, in addition to the South extension of line 5 and the West extension of line 9, which are scheduled to open next year, Shenzhen Metro will continue to build seven metro projects with high quality. Meanwhile, it will make full efforts to carry out preparatory work for five metro projects in four phases and start related projects to be approved.
