Recently, from the North port site of Shanghai Rail Transit Chongming Line located on Changxing Island, the news came out that the "Shenchong" super shield that started from Changxing Island to Chongming Island has been successfully promoted and broken through the 1,000 meter mileage node, and the "Shentong" super shield that started from Changxing Island to Pudong in the South port has been the first to complete the kilometer distance tunneling at the end of May this year. At present, the two shields are in the normal construction stage, and they continue to advance toward the center of the Yangtze River at an average speed of 16 to 20 meters per day.

The Chongming Line crossing project crosses the Yangtze River twice, with the length of the south port section about 7.7 kilometers and the length of the North Port section about 9 kilometers, both of which face multiple challenges under complex working conditions such as ultra-long distance excavation, deep tunnel buried, and crossing sandy soil layer and methane layer, and serve as the key engineering control point of the whole line. With the continuous increase of tunneling distance, material transportation distance, ventilation in the tunnel and more and more complex permeable soil environment have become huge difficulties in shield tunneling construction.

In order to ensure the smooth progress of the two super large shield structures, the project team integrates all production factors such as shield wear monitoring system, tunnel traffic control system, toxic and harmful gas monitoring and early warning and ventilation system through the advanced "digital tunnel" intelligent management and control platform, and ensures the safe and efficient normal operation of tunnel construction in terms of safety and quality control. To achieve the whole life cycle of intelligent control and traceability closed-loop management. At the same time, through the intelligent management and control platform, a reasonable parameter range is set, and AI monitoring and manual methods are adopted to achieve automatic real-time data acquisition of tunnel forming quality, key promotion parameters, and shield attitude, so as to achieve the accuracy of construction parameters, further reduce the probability of hidden dangers, and improve the level of site management.
